The lady angler standings are led by Cynthia Starosta aboard Star Fish, with 3,800 points for releasing three blue marlin and 10 sailfish. The top youth anglers going into Edisto are Ford Schlicksup, Julia Gressette, and Reef Simmons, each with their own impressive catches. The overall leaders in the meatfish categories are Joe Kehoe, Stratton Pollitzer, and John Waite, with their respective catches of dolphin, wahoo, and tuna. The Carolina Kingfish Classic, set to take place in August, will be a showcase of kingfish angling, with the 2025 tournament won by Pole Dancer with a 53-pound king mackerel. Bassmaster Magazine has released its annual listing of America's 100 Best Bass Lakes, with the Santee Cooper Lakes listed at No. 4. The red drum regulations have also been updated, with changes to catch and size limits, and non-offset/non-stainless circle hooks are now required for fishing with large hooks.
